Hi, I am new to spread trading and have been reading numerous articles on the boards about Winspread, Vince Stanzione,CT, and various book and coures sellers trying to get the sale to the unspecting new trader with the promise of great reward. Can anyone out there please give us new traders answers about what courses or books or trading systems, that are available out there that actually work and not just pushing hype and B##### and will help give us some chance of being successfull,

Youres,

Welcome to T2W

From my style of scalp (plus the odd swing) trading the first priority is to learn how to read the chart patterns & the second priority is to control risk.
One can only control risk through patten knowledge so they both go hand in hand.
The more you learn about patterns the more you get to understand that traders & markets develop habits. Patterns are you guide (map) to the money flow & money flow determines where the market eventually goes.

Books... I'd start with the basics like jiler, nison, pring or murphy & douglas

Search these boards as well, there are hundreds of trading gems to be found...try starting Skimbleshanks, Chartman and Sunseeker posts... yes it will require filtering but it will be well worth it.

Hope this helps

Hi Pilotpat

I noticed your posts on T2W, you may find this day course I run of some interest, the course is advertised through T2W and has its own thread and review posts. Please feel free to ask around about it, or contact me directly.

I tend to only run 1-3 courses per year and keep the numbers down so that people actually learn the basics. I don’t sell ‘systems’; the course is very much designed as a solid base from which you can grow your own trading persona.

I am a fulltime trader and have been contributing to T2W, Motley Fool and a few other sites for the last 4-5 years. I have also been teaching TA at City University Business School.

You can see some of my work on T2W in articles such as these:

This is a Disciplined Approach to Trading. They have two paltalk rooms. One is for live trading and one is the general room. There is a 5 day trial in the live room.I would encourage everyone to check this site out. There is no hype. The moderator is Greg Wietzman. He has a great feel for the markets and is a great tape reader. He studies the internals and takes his set-ups when they come.
Best to all

Yes - $250 per month. Well I could take a NAZ and a Mr. Charts course; or a TBS course, and learn to catch my own fish; rather than rely on being spoon fed at a rate of $250 per month.

Oh - you can buy a "scalp-o-meter" for a mere $999.

Just be careful and think: You can buy books; you can zero in to courses that help you find your trading style, but you will NEVER find a course, chatroom, guru or rune that will tell you what stock etc to trade, when, or how, and make money.

You will never be a clone of another trader, but you can be taught to think about what you are doing via the above courses, books, and much that is written, for free, on web sites.

Be careful crossing the road.

Hi
Someone just emailed me that there was chat about our room.
This is exactly why the room is free, come in and see for yourself, if you like it, and like our trading style then stick around.

There is also lots of other free stuff for those who are interested.
all of these services are free:
Tuesday Night Seminars on Paltalk
Pivot Console
Main Trading Room
Nightly ES Newsletter

We were introduced to this board from our UK members, we have approx 10 from the UK out of 60-70 regulars in the room.

Good Trading!
Greg

Pilotpat,

I asked more or less the same question as you a few months back. It pops up every few weeks. You have made the 1st good move by joining this community. Don't go spending big money on courses or seminars.

Read these boards, check Rossored's info and links at the top of the First Steps board. Take your time, don't go rushing into anything. A lot of these ads promise quick money, it IS for them, and you'll be paying it! You can lose a hell of a lot more than your shirt if you're not careful.

I started from scratch and am now paper trading on a virtual account. I have asked some real dim questions on here and someone has always been gracious enough to take the time and post a genuine reply. All the info you need is on this site and all the experts you will ever need are here to look after you.

Listen to them, they will not let you down.

Neil:

I have been in the tradingzone and I must say this is a legitimate room. I have nothing but good things to say about Greg...you should try it before you comment.

I could not agree more.If you dont educate yourself with this board ,books and so you will pay the MARKET.It just so happens Greg has one of the best methods and is a fine teacher. We had a free seminar tonight. This was just on general market topics. There is no such thing as quick money. It cost to educate yourself.Sounds like you have been burned by some course. The TTZ is a disciplined approach to trading. For what it cost it is very well worth it.You owe to yourself to visit the free room in paltalk. You need not buy anything its up to you how quickly you want to learn. It cost nothing to join.Paper trade if you wish but just so you know when you lay that hard cash on the line it changes things tremendously.Thats when emotion takes over.Money management takes time to learn.Rules take time to learn.

Blake

Bob,
I have never heard of them.We have free seminars once a week and the course owner's are entitled to all monthly seminars to discuss the TTZ method. It's less than half the price you paid for a two day seminar.Good luck to you and feel free to join us anytime. We are in paltalk under business and finance. You can sign up to receive the nightly es newsletter and pivot Pivot Console here at no charge.

Hi Kachingo,

Please don't get me wrong, I wasn't taking a knock at your site as I haven't even seen it myself. But there are undoubtedly many people out there who want you to buy all sorts of systems and charge thousands of pounds for the privilege even though most of the info can be had for free just by searching for it.
