A few quezzies about open price.

1. Does anybody know if there is a way to obtain market open price for a given stock whilst the market is trading?

2. Are the open prices defined as the price used to execute the first deal of the day?

3. At what time of does the official open price become available,
5 minutes after official market opening time?, Calculated at end of trading day?, once the first trade of the day has been executed ?,

4. Is there anywhere this info can be viewed via a web page? (I know Yahoo do provide a realtime data service but this just shows Bid/Ask).

Sorry bout' so many questions.

TIA

1/ yes - your broker. Delayed prices should be available from the exchange web site.
2/ yes generally, unless you're trading some US futures contracts which have opening price ranges as the various contract months open at staggered times.
3/ Depends. Your broker's software should provide this in real time. Otherwise, to receive real time info you must usually pay (minimal $10 a month)
Free quote services are usually 15 min delay in the US
4/ what markets are you trading? US stocks? try www.bigcharts.com
