on line USA brokers ?

can anyone tell me a cheap on line US broker. I want to buy a large amount of 1 paticular co.The spread on NYSE is just 1 cent ---but comdirct charge 10 p spread each share to cover the sterling to dollars deal seems a lot to me---any advice please. Fred

Try www.interactivebrokers.co.uk I dont think you will get much better than that although opening an account can be a pain.

thanx Paul and Henry I will check it ---but if it takes a few days to set up i`ll stick to comdirect because the stock price seems to rise every day, I will get in on monday. fred
