Can anybody tell me if US forex markets close next week for Thanksgiving ? Also is there usually little activity in the day(s) leading up to and following the holiday? Or does trading elsewhere round the world make for reasonable movements despite less activity in the US?

us market will be closed but the forex market will be opened. trading "Maybe"

light during the Us trading hours.

If Veterans day is anything to go by recently, trading during the US session will be light, probably comaprable to mid EUR session. There was still enough movement to make it worthwhile though, certainly not as quiet as the Asia session has been recently.

Thanksgiving is a much bigger holiday in the U.S. There will be essentially zero trading during that time frame on Thursday, and Friday will probably be light as well. Many folks take that day off as well.
