Hi,

I am new to this forum.
My name is richdaddy1.
I'm from the UK.
I'm an Internet Wealth expert.
I like positive and forward looking people.
I hope to have a fantastic experience here. :)

He sells e-books from a 50 page long scrolling webpage that tells you how YOU can achieve FORTUNE BEYOND YOUR WILDEST DREAMS and FINANCIAL FREEDOM by just saying YES I WANT IT NOW and submitting your email while giving you zero real information about the product on offer... there are probably 10 paragraphs on how he was brought up in a working class background, his dad and mum both held down two jobs at two different factories and he used to get up at 3am every morning to cycle to his job before going school but now he drives an F430 and lives in a 7 bedroom mansion... and works just 10 minutes a day... not bad for a 32 year old.

He lives and breathes "Web 2.0". The rest of the world calls it spam. Professional marketeers laugh at such marketing practices over their lattes at the IDMF.

Fortunately for him, there are enough gullible idiots... er... potential customers to make him likely richer than you'll ever be.

PS Welcome to T2W. :D

Funny Reply shadowninja

Quite a one-sided reply. If you have information that you believe will benefit others, well you'll have to sell it some how. Whether it's a 50 page long scrolling webpage, or just a 1 page webpage, it doesn't matter.
And yes there are REAL stories of people that had nothing, learnt their trade (whether it's spreadbetting, Internet marketing etc), and made money. The bottom line is that to make more money they have to sell their information, ain't it.
Who or what is a Professional marketeer anyway? They must have either FAKED IT UNTIL THEY MADE IT, or they really did make a bit of money in their niche and came up with a product(s) to obviously make more money. Take Rich Dad Poor Dad for example, he wasn't known when he first wrote that book. If he didn't sell that book to educate people, then no one would have known him.
I've been trading/spreadbetting the financial market for a while now, and we all know that you will have more losses than wins.
The trick is to get out of your losses quickly and stay in your profitable trades much longer... we also know from experience that's not as easy as it sounds... :)

Good reply. :) I admire your positivity although you sound exactly like the sort of person I thought you would be. In any case, it is important to remain positive esp through a drawdown. The typical reaction to a drawdown is to stop trading and then your system becomes profitable again and you're on the sidelines watching your system call loads of decent signals. When you jump back in, it's just starting on the drawdowns and you lose more money.

By professional marketeer I meant people who are qualified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing. They didn't "fake it until they made it". They go in as graduate trainees and are trained by the likes of the CIM and their marketing directors how to market their goods/services. You could argue it's a means to an end. I think the means is more important than the ends. That is why I don't run a door hinge manufacturing business, for instance. Of course, I want riches beyond my wildest dreams (well, a slight exaggeration) but I want to profit from doing something I'm interested in... door hinges, for example, isn't one of them. :D

The reality is that people that are qualified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing are not the people making the most money. They are still in the 'Rat Race', if they are in a job. If you have a brilliant idea and go for it, with or without qualifications, you might just strike gold.

I mean there are so many excellent examples of people that have succeeded from all walks of life without qualifications... I have a Masters Degree, but that doesn't mean anything. It just gives me a better position in a job, that's if I'm given the chance...

Anyway nice chatting with you. To Your Success. :)

I agree entirely but then you're talking about entrepreneurial success whereas I'm just specifically talking about marketing success. If I were to run a business that required selling, I would employ a CIM-qualified person to manage my marketing activities.

So Richdaddy - what are you looking to achieve from your visits to T2W? Are you looking for training / tuition / mentoring in your trading?

Hi GammaJammer,

Just thought to join a trading forum. I participate in other forums, but came across this and decided to join.

I respect your opinion. Personally, I know that selling & marketing has got a lot to do with drive, perseverance, positiveness and belief. And not whether someone is CIM- qualified or not.

Unless, all businesses would have had CIM qualified people to market their business, well that's not the case.

Of course, but most medium and big businesses prefer CIM-qualified people... the point I was making is the style of marketing is different to the established methods.

That's a good point. Sometimes it's good to do things differently. And there will definitely be other innovate marketing styles in the future that will be different from the old methods.
