Does anyone think that the new CGT rules will make SB companies less attractive?

Certainly the DMA brokers must be pleased!

They will lose some business but probably not a lot.

Everybody has 9K tax free every year and that doesnt stop people Spread Betting. Logically every punter should first use up their allowance before moving to SB but that doesnt happen.

Another attraction of spread betting is the low margin requirements. That hasnt changed.

It looks like the speculators are being rewarded (no problem with that!) and people who have built up businesses (like myself) are being penalised. Having lost the taper relief, the CGT has gone from 10% to 18%.

Thanks for the 80% increase in tax, Darling!
