Need help? Differing prices?

Hi to everyone,

I have made a few bets, some successful and some not; mainly as an experiment and as a learning experience. I have a question, would appreciate some clarity if possible.

I am going to place a trade on the FTSE 100 through IG Index. The price is 6764.10 on IG Index, but 6740 on websites such as Yahoo Charts etc.

Can anyone explain the difference, it looks like if I make a buy at 6764 I will already be missing out by 24pts?

Is IG Index the best way to trade?

It's possible that you could be comparing delayed prices on the one with live prices on the other.

Also check, you may be comparing a futures quote with a cash price.
