One of the indicators below is in-compatible with Bollinger Band.

1) CHAIKENS MONEY FLOW
2) COMMODITY CHANNEL INDEX
3) RSI.
Name and shame the indicator

One of the indicators below is very compatible with Bollinger Band.

1) RSI
2) OBV
3) MACD osc

The above observation have arrived from inputting all traditional indicators one by one into a neural network to examine the effectiveness and success of each individual indicator in giving a 5 days price projection.

( Since I have had a massive cold, I can spend more time on the BB)

Hi Dr Iraj,

I don't use 1) CHAIKENS MONEY FLOW
2) COMMODITY CHANNEL INDEX so don't want to comment on them...but RSI is my first preferrence to use with Bollinger Bands..followed by OBV and MACD...only I don't use MACD when I use RSI as they rely on the same inputs..to be more technical to avoid Multicolinearity...

Mmh, very interesting.

I do not know the answers, but let us know them!

Well Chaikin's is a Market Strength indicator whereas the other two are Volatility indicators. If this is the answer, then I am interested as to why.

Hi Iraj

Glad to be able to read your posts again mate.

I do believe CCI incompatible & RSI compatible.

thanks

welcome home antony.

RSI is very compatible with Bollinger Band and CCI is not compatible at all.

So next time you USE Bolinger Band GO FOR RSI for further confirmation.

Just read an interesting post on one of the US's BB.

" If price touches the upper band of BB and RSI> 70 then Sell.
If price touches the lower band of BB and RSI<30 then BUY

If price touches the upper band of BB and RSI<70, the trend will continue and if price touches lower band of BB and RSI>30 the tren will continue"

What do you think??

Hi mate,

We have discussed various BUY stratgies with Bollinger Bands at CI's BB. Apply this methodology to NON TECH STOCKS (I have problem with technical analysis of TECH stocks all together. I simply can't find a stiff correlation of past/future data within this sector, SORRY).

I.e NO correlation ----> no valid Analysis.
