I’ve always been an investor and an active trader, constantly trying to find an edge since I was 16. Over the years I’ve done pretty well, but more importantly, I’ve learned a lot. As I’ve gotten older, my outlook has shifted toward a long-term approach — looking at a 3–5 year horizon — because the results over that range are consistently stronger than short-term swing trading or day trading.
In the past few months I’ve focused on building a more quantitative approach, combining data with my investing philosophy. The core of it is discipline — trusting the system and not letting emotions or headlines dictate decisions. I backtested this strategy across different time periods, including through crashes and downturns (2020, 2018, 2021–22), and the results were eye-opening. This strategy only thrives when you think long term. It’s not for people chasing quick profits; it requires patience and conviction to hold.
Here’s how it stacked up:
• December 2022 – July 2025: S&P 500 returned 56.9%. Our strategy: 225.94%.
• January 2021 – July 2025 (5 years): S&P 500 returned 71%. Our strategy: 225.43%.
• 7-year back test: S&P 500 returned 156%. Our strategy: 974.43%.
The back test had simple rules the accounts were given 100k in equity to start off and then I coded the strategy to follow. In all 3 tests the full equity was not used and was about 65-75% in each individual tests.

The strategy is simple: timing-based, only using ETFs and large-cap/blue-chip stocks with strong fundamentals. No gambling on small caps, no get-rich-quick promises. It’s about building massive profits over the long run by being disciplined and consistent.
