Just curious but how come you keep coming up with all these obscure names? This one must be about your sixth? In the Boiler Room Scams and Argus threads you seem to have traded with a couple of the dodgy ones already.

I noticed your comment "Any idea how these firms get your info...I have been getting a very high amount of calls for th last couple weeks AT ALL HOURS, getting very old fast. ". Presumably all these names are from cold-calls? Perhaps you should put the phone down on any company that cold-calls you rapidly. If you really want to trade shares then look at the brokers that other members of this forum have already directed you towards, and start looking for a strategy for selecting your own trades.

Your right, these are people calling me...both had a couple intriguing offers. I'm learning...a couple times tha hard way. I do appreciate all the advice, just throwing out the names of companies that contact me regularly....thanks

I did get an IB account rolling as well...so far very happy. Your right I should not listen to any offers and just roll with the tried and true...

On another note.

The interactive charts on IB's TWS are great but, the bars look very fuzzy on my machine. All other charts look great. Does anyone else have this problem.

Hey Trim, IB have only just started making any attempt at improving thier charts. they have a very long way to go before they catch up with Sierra or Quotetracker http://www.medved.net/quotetracker/ .

http://www.bracket-trader.com/home.html Is primarily a front end for IB but it can be used as a live trading simulator, which calculates your commission expenses etc, so you can test your strategies. Don't be suprised if you lose overall for months / years, at least it is better to lose virtual $$ than real ones! Do not trade real money until consistantly profitable on sim, would be good if often unheeded advice.

Both the above programs may be used free indefinately, just pay when you want extra facilities or show your appreciation or get rid of the ads.

The title of this thread is not ideal for this subject matter so probably we should look for an existing appropriate thread to continue if you wish.
