Sorry for bothering the experts, but I'm a translator and would like to understand the expression " moving from greens to whites" in the following sentence:

For the 1-2y to initiate the flattening, we need either a durable revision lower of the expected terminal rate or a shortening of the expected length of the hiking cycle (with typically the peak of the Euribor strip moving from greens to whites).

What does" moving from greens to whites" refer to / mean?

In short-term interest rate futures markets colors are used to refer to contract maturities a number of years into the future. I don't recall which color represents which year, but for example greens could be the contracts in the first year and whites the ones in the second year.

In the world of STIRs, the strip is as follows:
1st - 4th are Whites
5th - 8th are Reds
9th - 12th are Greens
13th - 16th are Blues
17th - 20th are Golds
Followed by Purples, Oranges, Pinks, Silvers and Coppers (not that anyone cares).

They're just saying in which area of the strip the peak occurs.

Handle - the bit of the price that normally gets dropped. People say something is trading at 70, when its actual price is, say, 99.70. In this case, 99 is the "handle"
Car - not 100% sure, but isn't that like another name for a lot of SPY or smth like that
