margin questions on mt4

Hello all,
i am new to forex and have a basic question regarding the margin and free margin on smartlive mt4 platform, i am using the demo platform and have noticed the margin go down when i put a trade on, but it also go's up when i put a trade on same with free margin.
I thought the margin would go down along with the free margin for each trade, thanks in advance

something is not addding up may be their config is wrong.. normally hedged positions will not require extra margin
