A couple years ago I created a script that looks for rapid price changes/volatility during the day. This is done simply by comparing the price of stocks every ~5 minutes and alerts you if your criteria is met. I generally use this strategy to sell CSPs, but many strategies could be applied to this idea. Throwing it out into the world to see if others can find it useful:
