Regardless of political persuasion, this truly is a tragic event and the first MP to have been killed in office since 1990. A promising young MP with a likely future ministerial career ahead and with two young children of only 3 and 5 years old.

I have to admire her husband who was quoted as saying:

.....fight against the hatred that killed her. Hate doesn't have a creed, race or religion, it is poisonous

RIP

Seconded.
In a barrel that appears to have more than it's fair share of bad apples, I get the distinct impression that Jo Cox was a really good one. She appears to have been that rare breed of politician: someone who became an MP for the best possible reason - to do everything in her power that's in the best interests of the people she represented. I hadn't heard of her before yesterday and am very moved by the reports about her life and saddened by her tragic death.
Tim.

Whatever one's political affiliation, taking a life is always monstrous. I was shocked when I read the news. This poor woman. Her poor family. I cannot imagine how hard this will be for her children.
