Jake Bernstein, what do you think

Hi All

Have any of you had anything to do with Jake Bernstein? If so what are your thoughts. He has a mentoring program that I am looking at, just want to make sure the guy is who he says he is and not someone who just sells a lot of expensive stuff.

If this fellow as well as hundred other "teachers" were any good, they would make money by trading and not by eaching YOU how to do it ! And then his Book-writing - how does he find to write so many ? Where is the time for an active trader to write books ? The people who have done serious research about trading are few. I have had a look at his books - nothing new. You can find more in Murphy's book on TA. This along with a few other simpler texts will teach all you need to know.

I think all these teachers lose money in market and then try to recoup it by offering courses and writing books. Mentoring is OK to a certain extent but courses you do not need ...........

Victor Sperando's book - the first one, title goes as something like "... of a Wall Street master" ( sorry, do not remember full title, google it and you will come to know ) will teach you more.

I got the impression he's someone who trawls records looking for repeated patterns in soy beans, hogs bellies etc. Sort of buy soy beans when there is an "S" in the month and short when the first snows hit the mid-West. Not my sort of trading, but interesting to listen to.

I completely agree. It's one thing if there is a rational explanation, otherwise it's meaningless back tested data mining which shouldn't fool anybody with more than a couple of brain cells.
At another symposium I spoke at in the Bloomberg Centre there was a speaker who tried to convince people with "proof" that planetary movements caused stock price movements. Many seemed to hang on his every word, furiously making notes; but then he did wear a suit and spoke well........

personally for trading i prefer the price action stuff. simple concepts that can be explained in a day. its the practice that takes a long time.
