is it safe to invest in US stocks?

hi there !!

On friday I wanted to look out for some stocks in US but US stock markets were lower when Chevron Corp warned about its second-quarter earnings, raising the specter of a weaker-than-expected second-half economic recovery and anemic corporate profits.

So will the downtrend continue today as well?

please can anybody actually tell me whether to invest or not especially in US stocks?

I understand you just want to hear opinions, but if the majority said, "yes, the US is going up" they'd probably be proved wrong anyway.
And since the majority is fickle and easily influenced by the latest thing they've read/heard, you are better deciding for yourself; at least then you've only got yourself to blame
