Interested in F1

Close LV very. Good race and Nico played a blinder. At least Hamilton can console himself with a little bump and grind later.

Monaco will always have its haters but nothing else is like it and this years race was great.

I wonder how much the red flag helped merc,
that may have been the decider, taking the pressure off merc with tyres.

Haha. Listening to the poor sods on Sky attempting to find positives post race was pretty cringeworthy tbh.

'There were some great overtakes......erm.....or at least attempted overtakes.'

Lmao.

Very much so. From the get go the first 4 were in tire mode. The Mercs forced the slow pace at the only track they could IMO. Before safety cars, red flag and contrary to the chat it looked like most of the field was two stopping, Raikkonen (closest driver to a one i thought) pitted pre Massa's crash bringing out the first safety car. That handed it to the Mercs.

This wasn't like Spain, the mercs had a fair chance on performance alone. Rosberg was on it all weekend, he had the luck in the race and that was it.

Can't help but wonder what help that 'Secret' 3 day tire test had. The FIA has to move on that. Rules are rules.

In a side note - how long will Grosjean last? sweepstakes anyone?

Too many stupid rules but then the lawyers have to get in on the act !!

Yep you don't like the tires but were we watching the same race? - overtakes all over the place for Monaco.

One former F1 driver and pundit agrees with me.

BBC Sport - David Coulthard column: Monaco Grand Prix was rubbish

F1 needs to be very careful. It has an awful 'anorak' repuation and this Monaco farce will do nothing to help that. I'm 24, and none of my mates watch on a regular basis. It's all middle-aged dudes.

Not an unfair point.
I spose I qualify as a 'middle aged dude' at 39

Seriously, I like F1, but I do think it and other motorsport forms need
a radical overhaul:

WRC, MotoGP and F1 have all been sanitised due to too much technology,
driver / rider aids and so on.
The vast majority of which need binning.
Even touring cars, WTCC, BTCC and DTM are not as good because aero is too
big an influence these days.

One good thing about being an old ba$tard is I remember the days of Schwantz
and Rainey power sliding, Cleland, Tarquini and Soper in BTCC and McRae / Makkinen - racing was more entertaining then.
Rossi is a recent exception.
