I.b. W-8

I am in the process of opening an I.B. account and the w-8 section isn't making a whole lot of sense.do I fill out the 'ben' or the 'eci'. If I fill out the 'ben' what has to be entered in section 2 and 3. The help section in pdf doesn't work and when I e-mailed the new accounts they were equally useless. Is it down hill from here or are there more pit falls?

W8-BEN

The BEN means beneficiary, ie you are the beneficiary of the profits/loss in the account. The other forms are for trusts, and unusual setups.

There's alos been a thread on these boards about which form to fill in.
