My Logitech cordless optical mouse is becoming more of a problem.

It is too slow for me now, even though I have it on the fastest setting, and it needs the batteries replacing every couple of days.

I haven't bought a mouse in a while and I'm minded to go back to corded.
Would a gaming mouse be better?

Any suggestions welcome.

scose,

I am an established member, only had a period of absence due to a serious illness.

I assure you that my question is genuine. I need to get back to trading. No more jokes please guys!

Logitech M305 or M505 depending on what size you want. Battery lasts for months.

I'd get an IR corded one - I've only had to replace one due to button mashing while playing games.

what about a gaming mouse, thats what I use (not this one tho it just looked cool).

I just recently bought a gigabyte gaming mouse and I have to say I'm NOT impressed. I've had to buy a mouse mat for it - despite it being a IR mouse because it won't work on my polished wooden desk top. Never had a problem with my previous mouse. Seriously considering going back to a microsoft.

One of these? It doesn't look very comfortable :|

I've just bought a Microsoft arc touch mouse. Quite a wacky design but it works well for me. Fold flat to switch off. Uses a nano receiver which is very convenient for a laptop since it only protrudes a few millimetres. Beware there is an older version with a conventional scroll wheel -- quite a bit cheaper. With its central touchpad in lieu of scroll wheel this is quite unlike a conventional mouse but having used it for a week I really like it. very good for rapid scrolling and the left and right buttons are completely programmable. No side buttons so the gamers probably won't like it. (As well as the anti- Bill Gates Brigade).

£79 PC World or £37 Amazon delivered to your door.

look on u tube there is loads of ways u can change its shape, weight, senstivity etc.. to fit your hand. custom buttons i dont suppose are much use. i like to hold my mouse in my fingertips not like my whole palm.

also on gaming mouses the travel between click and no click is quite small and very easy to press which is good for fast order entry.

Damn, that's a thing of beauty and make no mistake, if only I wasn't a swing trader..sigh..:(

just a thing though, every1 who tries rollerballs says they would never go back. I never tried it myself but could be quite good in terms of desk space etc...

btw mine is one of these

you can change teh weight a bit, the sensitivity, have a wide or a normal shape to it.

basic does point and click, forward and back, scroll (with or without click). It's fine.
