historical rates of the forex currencies

I was wondering if anyone could help me find historical rates of the forex currencies... the back the historical the better!...

also i would like to know since when (date) the FX market is being recorded ...

if anyone has some pretty back historical rates, and would like to share it with me , i will be pleased too...

couple of places you can try....

http://ratedata.gaincapital.com/ raw tick data that will require a little of your time to sort out duplicate entries..

http://www.forexrate.co.uk/forexhistoricaldata.php for more manageable candlestick data - however only goes to a max of 10000 entries.

GBP data for example:
Monthly from April 1660 - December 1861
Daily from January 1862 - July 2007
