Thank you for reading my post.
Please forgive my grammar as I am from China and English isn't my native language.
Background: I worked for a investment firm in China until May of this year, due to the time differences, I have only had limited exposure to the US security market (stock, options mainly); Now that I am retired, I am free to trade at night and is looking for a All-in-One broker to handle my stock, option, Future trades in the US.I have read many of the posts on this lovely site regarding the "best" brokerage firm to use, but was unable to make a decision because I have a short list of things I need clarifications on, hence the start of this thread, any help is deeply appreciated.
1. I am looking for a firm that will provide competitive comm. rates on stock and YM trades, will provide a reliable trading platform for free or a low monthly charge, also good market research tools. The broker listed here such as IB, Global Futures, Ninja… all seems to be good, which one do you use, and would you choose it again if you are looking for a broker now. ( I understand that discount firms usually don’t offer great research/ trading tools, that is fine, I looking for the best value here)
2. I have had difficulties accessing zecco and scottrade in mainland China, i think this is partially due to GFW but also the site itself (I had no problems with Fidelity for example). I would like to know how each of the trading platforms will handle in China, but i guess this can only be answered by a person whom had experiences trading US securities from China or other countries on the other side of the world.
3. Market research and charting tools, would you please share with me which software/site you have used and which ones I should look into? (I found the fidelity stock screener to be quite good compares to scottrade and zecco, but it isn’t programmable and is web-based.) 万得,大智慧,通达信, 飞狐, TS are some of the software I have used before (if u know Chinese), are there anything like these from any of the brokers listed above, or are they all bought separately?
I will probably ask more questions in this thread in the future, but for now, I would really love to see your input. Thank u in advance for your help.
