Hello Guys this is my PC :
Mother board : X48T-DQ6 Series 3 GIGABYTE
Graphic : TWO Geforce 9600 GT 512 Leadtek
RAM : DDr3 1900 MHz 1GBx2

My problem is how to connect 4 monitors with two graphic card? how to set up it? or how to active the second graphic card?

(sorry for my bad Eng)

Hi Jerr

Simply by installing the second graphics card in a correct PCI-Express slot should activate it.

If I have understood correctly, and if you are using Windows:-

I think that your graphic cards each have 2 DVI connectors, so you will need 4 cables to the 4 monitors.
When your have everything connected up, the rest of the work is in Windows to spread your desktop across the 4 monitors.

Right-click on Desktop and choose Properties.
Select Settings tab.
You should see 4 boxes labelled 1,2,3,4 representing the monitors.
Lower down are two check boxes which are self-explanatory.
1. Use this device as the primary monitor
2. Extend my Windows desktop into this monitor.

Then for each monitor, using Properties, make sure that each one has the same Screen Resolution e.g. 1024 X 768, or whatever.

Thanks Glen,

I put in all the cables (from monitors) but I see only 2 monitors when I click on desktop> properties

Try disconnecting monitor cables to find out which connectors are working.
If one card is not working, carefully pull it out of it's slot and put it back to ensure a good connection.
(Earth yourself to the chassis before you start this).

See what you find out and let us know.

Have you connected a power lead to the second board ?

yea sure, I connected 2 monitors to the second card and its working great, after that I shut down my PC plug it out of the second card, and tried to connect it to the first card and it worked great, but when i tried to connect 4 monitors (2 per card) It found only 2 monitors working. and I have no idea what to do. Its very important for me because I'm a Day trader.

I can't think of anything else to say except that you could contact the video card manufacturer and tell them your harware configuration.

Glenn, guys now when i plug a disaplays only to the second graphica card i get blank screen completely

I've just had a look at the manual for your board and it doesn't say you can use both pci-e cards at the same time, although you can change which card is used first in bios.

I can't use both pci-e channels at the same time on my computer, but then mines a cheapie

so with that in mind, :!: and if you know what your doing :!:, go into the bios on startup and choose the other pci-e channel as the 1st, your motherboard manual tells you how. You will then be able to see if card 2 actually works ...and with a bit of luck, card 1 may now work also at this time.

nice board by the way (y)

....when I click on the "Init Display First" I have this option : PCI or PEG or PEG2

peg & peg2 are the choices for the pci express channels, so if it is on peg choose peg2, that will select the other card

heres what the board manual says:

Init Display First
Specifies the first initiation of the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card or the PCI Express graphics card.
PCI Sets the PCI graphics card as the first display. (Default)
PEG Sets PCI Express graphics card on the first PCIe x16 slot (PCIE_16_1) as the first
display.
PEG2 Sets PCI Express graphics card on the second PCIe x16 slot (PCIE_16_2) as the
first display.

so do you have pci cards??

where are they installed on the pic I have uploaded?

they are installed at the PCI-E x16 slots, Look .. I have a stand with 4 monitors 2 upside monitors connected to the first PEG and two Down side monitors connected to the PEG2 , but when I choose the PEG , the two down side still works even If i choose the PEG and it must to turn on the UPSIDE monitors , after that I tried to switch it, I choose the PEG2 but still only the 2 downsided are working.

(one more question if I want to connect 4 monitors for Day Trading, is it called SLI ?)

I don't know what's going on then, sorry :(

You should look in device manager in your control panel, there you will see how many cards windows can see, if there's only 1, try running "add hardware" and see if it picks up the other. If it can see 2 of them 1 may just need switching on or adding the driver from the device manager.

Just a thought, when I did my first multi monitor setup. I did read that using the same cards can cause problems in that issues can arise with the drivers but that was a long while ago, with old pci cards and not with these modern cards and newer versions of windows.

Good luck (y)
