Hedging the FTSE

I am trying to find an effective way to hedge my FTSE intraday trading.

I need to find another type or form of trading that relates directly, and possibly proportionally, to the FTSE price movement; however something different from Options or Warrants.

For instance, is there a direct correlation between the pound/dollar currency price variations and the FTSE ?

Is there anyone with good advice? Thank you

I am trading the FTSE100 index on CMC (Deal for Free) platform, it is a Roll Over type of index price, based, I believe, on a short term future.
