A few weeks after the flash crash, I was told that investigations were under way regarding a 3 pronged hack attack from London, China & Dubai that caused it. I have no idea whether this was true or not.
Then I read this kind of stuff
and I have to suspect there's more to the story than the WSJ article implies.

May be a silly thought, but wasn't Bernie Madoff once very much involved with NASDAQ (one reason that he seemed so respectable and unchallengeable)?
Just thinking that he could somehow have used his pull to arrange to have some security loopholes installed which still haven't been spotted.
