Due to popular demand, I have decided to start a gold trading tip thread on this forum too. You can also view my other markets tips - FTSE and US Crude, and shortly will also be posting GBP/USD and Natural Gas tips.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 26 Oct 2009

Current Level: 1055
Support: 1047
Resistance: 1071

Gold has been moving sideways for a while now after its spectacular run as soon as it got through the 1000 mark. The market now remains neutral with a short term trading range between 1047-1071, we will only get a clear signal until one of these levels break.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 27 Oct 2009

Update 09:00 GMT
Current Level: 1039
Support: 1033
Resistance: 1051

Just when we quote this as a boring market  Gold breaks out of the trading range - to the downside. I would prefer to go long at 1033-1035 and target 1045. On the flip side I would short at around 1050 and target 1040.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 28 Oct 2009

Update 09:30 GMT
Current Level: 1035
Support: 1028
Resistance: 1048

We went down to a low of 1032 and a high of 1044 yesterday. The resistance level today moves down to 1048 and support down to 1028.

I would short this down to 1030-1028 and then go long from this level up to target 1038-1040.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 29 Oct 2009
Update 09:45 GMT
Current Level: 1034
Support: 1026.5
Resistance: 1040

We went down just below our support of 1028 going down to 1026.8 and a high of 1040.

From shorting at 1038 and after closing at 1028 yesterday, I bought in again at 1029 and will aim for 1038 to sell, which I will short once again.

Below 1026.5 prepare to go much lower targeting the crucial 1005-1000 mark.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 02 Nov 2009
Update 09:45 GMT
Current Level: 1055
Support: 1040
Resistance: 1060, 1068

We are seeing a rally today in Gold, could this be becuase investors are running to a safe haven? or is it because it was oversold last week? We shall no doubt find out in the week ahead.

Although there is resistance at 1060, I will be closing my long position at 1065-1068, and short from here as this is the more important resistance level.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 03 Nov 2009
Update 11:15 GMT
Current Level: 1056.5
Support: 1054, 1047
Resistance: 1068, 1072

Important levels are underlined as above.
Still looking to stay/go long as markets fall further and investors look for safe haven such as Gold and Dollar.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 04 Nov 2009

Update 08:30 GMT
Current Level: 1088.6
Support: 1072, 1066
Resistance: 1090, 1102

Are we heading to the 1100 gold price? My answer is yes, maybe not today but most likely sometime this week.

I would continue to go long and buy into any dips today.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 05 Nov 2009

Update 11:30 GMT
Current Level: 1090
Support: 1080, 1072
Resistance: 1102, 1115

Gold almost hit the much talked about 1100 price, but did not quite make it. The high was 1098.5.

We remain bullish and still expect the bulls to carry this forward. We continue to buy dips as long as 1072 remains a firm support.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 06 Nov 2009

Update 09:00 GMT
Current Level: 1095
Support: 1080, 1072
Resistance: 1102, 1115

Our view still remains bullish today, although commodities remained quiet all day yesterday. So we continue to buy dips as long as 1072 remains a firm support.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 09 Nov 2009

Update 10:00 GMT
Current Level: 1108
Support: 1090, 1074
Resistance: 1115, 1130

We finally did break the 1100 on friday like we said we would. We are trading above this today and is looking extremely overbought for the short-term, however our resistance levels are thin which means we may be above 1100 for a good while yet before any pullback occurs.

Our view is neutral at this stage and will keep aside. I would not risk shorting just yet and would only buy if it falls to 1090 today, with a target of 1105 and a stop loss at 1070.

Gold (DEC) Trading Tip : 10 Nov 2009

Update 08:30 GMT
Current Level: 1101
Support: 1096, 1090, 1074
Resistance: 1115, 1130

We got to a high of 1111, which just fell short of our first resistance of 1115, before slowly drifting back.

We are starting to see signs of fatigue in the Gold rally, so should see a soft pullback in the near term.

Update 08:45 GMT
Current Level: 1115
Support: 1096, 1090, 1074
Resistance: 1115, 1130

Yesterday we had a low at 1097 just ahead of our first support. Today we are seeing a record breaking high at 1115.

After a brief pause, buyers are back in today. This is a difficult one to call, but would prefer to trade this to the short side with a tight stop loss and a target at 1099-1096.

Update 09:30 GMT
Current Level: 1115
Support: 1097, 1090, 1074
Resistance: 1130

There's nothing much in the way of resistance except 1130 anymore! Having hit record highs and the stochastics at very high levels, I am tempted to short this again.

Short at around 1117, target 1099, stop loss 1133

Update 08:40 GMT
Current Level: 1108
Support: 1097, 1090, 1074

Well we got to a low of 1100 overnight which was close to our target. We would continue to short this on any strength today too. Same again - short at around 1117, target 1099, stop loss 1133.
