From experience i learned one thing ,

when crude inventory is coming , all the learned technical becomes 'zero' !. So i avoid this session as much as possible.

Its just rape of you credit account !.

The bid and ask spread increased over 200% over the last 5 minutes, any idea why? inventory report related?

Yeah, usually when there is any kind of significant economics data being relaeased, the spread with widen.
