Hi there.
Please can someone help me to find out a site where I can get the high, low & closing daily price for the FTSE100, fro the last six months/one year etc?

Try the yahoo (uk) finance pages. Go to FTSE 100 and hit the historical prices tab.....you can also download the data into an excel spreadsheet.

you can get the information on all the major indices from a site like www.inverline.com, but it will only show it on a graph as far as I know ; although you will be able to manually get the OHLC figures, I dont think you can automatically export it - but its there for free, just depends what you want to do with it.

otherwise, the only way you'll get it is by paying for it i guess - try "historical FTSE data" in Google or something if you havent done so already, and see what you get. Someone out there probably has it somewhere in an excel spreadsheet, just a matter of finding them.
