Yes; As of a couple of years ago the Whitney Institute acquired the organization "Teach Me To Trade" (TMTT). Whitney looked to expand their educational services so they branched out by purchasing TMTT. TMTT has been around since the '90s and has become a reputable trading institution and I am living proof of their services. Whitney and TMTT are two different companies but now owned by the same person.

Hi Des, I've noticed your videos have been very much geared to the long side of trading. Do you have any examples of shorting the market? As by Dow Theory we've entered a bear market this was confimed last thursday i think. I've now had to reverse my strategy and trade short. Will you be looking to do the same. As you pointed out 80% of the market will follow the general direction of the overall market. I still believe Dow Theory Classifications as solid and reliable, just see Trader Vic 1 and 2 by Victor Sperandeo for confirmation on this.

Techst@: There is no doubt that March and April (and the very beginning of the year) has been great for the bears. Few things are as important as the relationships between the swing-highs and the swing-lows on the index charts. I pay particular attention to the S&P500 chart. When it's swing-highs make lower highs and lower swing-lows I know it's trending DOWN and we're in a bear market. These are the best times to go short, especially when the price of you stock is also trending down and bouncing off of either resistance or an upper trend line. I'll put some short example videos up for you to see. Although the concept is the same (but reversed) it's good to see. Thanks for the thought.

welsh guy: You're welcome and I do not trade currencies. However will be looking into Futures soon. I try to master only one area at a time ( I have a simple mind), and it's about time for me to take on another beast.

I have a traders meeting tonight so maybe a video or two after that. BTW, if you have not found a local trading group I would stress that you do so. These groups are usually made up of a mixture of experienced traders who are (normally) more than happy to share their experiences for you to benefit by. Here in the U.S. we have groups like Meet Up (www.meetup.com.) Maybe you in other countries have something similar.

Would someone let me know how I can access the IDB list. I joined IDB and am paying a ;monthly subscription because I find the articles insightful but given I am paper trading on technical analysis and I presumably am able to access the list for free is there any use in continuing my membership?

Marcus: You can't go wrong by paying for the IBD service. Although I can get it free I still pay the fee due to my own credibility. I am only speaking for myself here, but know that IBD also gives many other benefits other than just the IBD 100 list.

Thanks for the prompt response. Things are getting hazing since it's 1:30am here in Jersey and I'm trying to soak up all the info I can by surfing the net. I graduated university about 3 months ago and have paid for alot of services but I'm a little strapped for cash right now and am having a hard time deciding what's worth my money.

In regards to post #170 (VLO), I have stopped out of a majority of my holdings. When I saw the market start to turn for the worse today I started tightening stops to preserve my profits.
