Any suggestions about software that spots patterns in forex data?

Has anyone used one of those genetic algorithms or neural nets? Any success with them?

This is more of a data mining approach. It's not trivial to figure out how to use those patterns effectively I caution you about that. The fundamental problem of pattern trading is figuring out which patterns are random and which have high probability of success.

I once used neural nets to try to predict forex rates a few days in advance. After a while I figured out that what the neural network was doing is a simple linear regression and an extrapolation. Maybe there are more advanced ways of using those algorithms but I am not familiar with them
