Anyone got any experience of Fidessa platform?
How does it compare with Proquote International?
Hi Paza,Raysor,
Hi - I am currently using Proquote UK and International...but I am keen to find another provider. Did you change systems since this post....I see you were asking about Fidessa...I would be interested to hear any thoughts on it...as its something I am considering myself at the moment.
Cheers
PAZA
Paza,Hi Raysor,
Thanks for coming back so quickly.
I agree that its tough makiing the change to a new system...but with PQ UK being made redundant I am going to have to make the switch to a new platform. I am familiar with PQ International, but I couldn't believe that you are limited to Alerts for only 20 stocks....I cover about 75 stocks and need a system that can alert me when any news breaks on these stocks.
I feel quite comfortable with sorting out the set-up...thankfully, because like you I feel the helpdesk (as much as they try) really seem lacking in how it works as soon as u require something different to the nromal set-up!
I used to work for a Market making firm and we were actually one of the 1st firms to use Proquote(when it was a privately owned firm) and I can assure the service level back then was fantastic. Part of the reason we went with them...unfortunately now the LSE have ownership they seem to have forgotten about the little guy out there that pays them! Although I must say my account manager cann't do enough for me...and I think he shares my frustrations.
I am trying to build a list of traders that use systems and feel they are not being heard( due to being too small for the suppliers to listen to then)...my thinking is that if I can say I am speaking on behalf of say 50 traders then they will perhaps listen. Would you and your firm perhaps be interested in being part of this?
Let me know if I can help with your PQ International as I am fairly competant if your need some assistance.
Cheers
PAZA
Yes, but how much is Bloomberg?PAza have you looked into Bloomberg? If you are looking to move systems, and your looking at Fidessa, it might be worth you looking at Bloomberg, as its probably a different product to what you think it is.
In regards to assitance and training, it is offered to everyone with a 24hr helpdesk and a dedicated account mamnager who can do side by side training with you whenever needed.

Paza,
I am in the process of updating (and adding to) an article about Live Share Prices Live Share Prices - Shareworld to include Proquote and Fidessa. Maybe you can help and/or I can give some publicity to your cause.
Surely your broker would place the order/s?guys, the broker I worked at recently, traders used both Fidessa (order input) and Bloomberg (data feed), think thats a pretty standard set up these days.
Im guessing everyone realises that Proquote and Fidessa cannot be used singularly by a retail investor. You are not authorised to place trades in the order book - must be an LSE member firm. You need to go through a retail broker and a DMA/level 2 provider like iDealing or IB etc...
Yes. as a retail investor, which is what the FSA defines us as, the broker places the order e.g. iDealing
Look at the LSE member firm directory for a complete list
