Farewell old boy

Just to let you guys know (collegues and friends) that my Little Barney dog passed away over the weekend.

He'd been a great friend and was always with me in the office sitting close to where my legs are, now there is an empty space not only under my desk but also in my heart. He will be surely missed and was a great companion. Now I will have to make trading decisions on my own and walk down the bottom of the garden to get fire logs by myself. He lived a good life and his passing was peaceful as he took his last breath with Mary and I at his side, all things come to an end I suppose and this was his time to go. We buried him in his favourite blanket half way down the garden and planted a rose bush above him, this I can see from my office window so I know he'll be safe. If heaven exists, he's in a good place.

Good bye my friend.

sorry to hear that mate, had my wiemirana (cant spell that for sh1t) for 13 years, absolubtly gutted when she died. Ours is buried in her favorite place out on the medows to the back of the farm. all the best mate and we'll have a drink for Barney soon.

Condolences to you and your family.

Mark.

I'M STILL HERE

I stood beside your bed last night
I came to have a peek
I could see that you were crying
You found it hard to sleep

I whined to you softly
As you brushed away a tear
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast
I watched you pour the tea
You were thinking of the many times
Your hands reached down to me

I was with you at the shops today
Your arms were getting sore
I longed to take your parcels
I wish I could do more

I was with you at my grave today
You tend it with such care
I want to reassure you
That I'm not lying there

I walked with you toward the house
As you fumbled for your key
I gently put my paw on you
I smiled and said "It's me."

You looked so very tired
And sank into a chair
I tried so hard to let you know
That I was standing there

It's possible for me to be
So near you everyday
To say to you with certainty
"I never went away."

You sat there very quietly
Then you smiled, I think you knew
In the stillness of that evening
I was very close to you.

The day is over...
I smile and watch you yawning
And say "Good night, God bless,
I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right
For you to cross the brief divide
I'll rush across to greet you
And we'll stand side by side

I have so many things to show you
There is so much for you to see
Be patient, live your journey out
And then come home to be with me

Hi Lee

I know it's a bit soon to be thinking about another companion yet but just wanted to post this in case anyone is

Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue

Our ones a good pet, great with the kids and leaves the cats alone, and they don't need as much exercise as you'd think, ours doesn't like going out if it's after about 7pm, he can't be bothered.

They go through a lot of crap in the years they are in kennels so deserve a life afterwards.

Thanks

hope no ones annoyed by this post

This soldier, I realized, must have had friends at home and in his regiment; yet he lay there deserted by all except his dog. I looked on, unmoved, at battles which decided the future of nations. Tearless, I had given orders which brought death to thousands. Yet here I was stirred, profoundly stirred, stirred to tears. And by what? By the grief of one dog.

Napoleon Bonaparte, on finding a dog beside the body of his dead master, licking his face and howling, on a moonlit field after a battle. Napoleon was haunted by this scene until his own death.

This thread just makes me want to cry! I'm going to have to unsubscribe before I burst into tears in front of everyone.
