Since the FTSE 100 generate almost 77% of their profits overseas, to what extent does UK data effect the FTSE 100, Do global events have a greater say in the performance of the FTSE 100 than data coming out of the UK i.e employment, growth, housing and PMI?

Thanks

Yup. By market cap, the FTSE 100 is full of oil and gold, but mostly oil, and has a lower volatility than most other major stock indices, so news trading isn't as violent as the dax and dow.
