Anybody have any recommendations for an account that will give me access to global ETF markets? I want a £ account but have direct online access to as much as possible.

Unless you can open an account with Merrill Lynch international equities desk, I think Interactive Brokers account is as close as you can get.

Merrill is to expensive, up to 2 cents per share depending on volume. IB charges bottom line commissions but does not cover that many global markets.

I think barclays administer the ishare ETF's so try barclays stockbrokers

I somehow don`t understand this discussion. I allways thougt ETFs to be traded like common stocks and available through stock exchanges, where they can apply for listing, the preferred one to be -aside of London- AMEX. So I assumed, if you can`t get them through IB you won`t get them at all.

Is it, I got it wrong?

Hittfeld, you are I think correct, I do not know where they are all listed or indeed what in all is available. There are certainly one listed on the continent also.
The aim of my post was to see if anybody knew of a broker who provided access to all of them and ideally find somebody who could provide information about the options and has experience trading them. I have not traded these things before but having seen a few of the indices they provide and I intend to place some money there.

TWI,
I can get virtually any listed via Hargreaves L ,but would I wish to ?
Apart from the top tier the volumes are so thin as to be completely illiquid at moments of volatility so to say that it is tracking anything at all might be stretching the truth a bit.

These to me have that flavour of the month ring about them. I'm pretty sure the core will go on to be worthwhile to trade ,BUT will the rest ? I don't think so :whistling
