eToro: What's it all about?

I think my browser is pointing trader-related ads to me, because I seem to be on T2W quite a lot recently.
Even on youtube, there are eToro ads.

I had a quick look at them.
I dont get the fuss about them. The spreads aren't too great.
Main thing seems to be copying other traders.
But, isn't that what myfxbook does, better?

What's the beef with eToro?

Was looking at eToro's copy trader thing today, seems like a good idea to get people involved in trading who don't want to, or can't put the necessary time in to become successful traders their selves.

I also looked in to ZuluTrade which seems to be very similar, but maybe with a few more options and information on the guys you can copy.

Not sure how good it is though, I may go ahead and open a demo account and look at the past performances of a few and follow them to see how it goes.

Hi forker, in your experience is this the case with guys who have been trading on their for quite a long time with relatively low max draw down percentages too?

A t that time it was a casino based on forex, showing lucky noobs with 300% in 6 months to impress other noobs (like me )
Today I can say that only the name is the same, forex spreads are still pretty high but eurusd had been lowered from 3 pips to 1 pip.
It is not aplace to trade or copytrade forex.
Today etoro is a very good place to invest stocks and etfs , a place for stockpickers not for long/short active and neutral trading.
They split everything so you can buy any amount of every stock.

eToro review: Is it a legit or scam social trading broker?

It has been common knowledge within the eToro community that their platform is totally unstable. For instance, very often we can't close nor open trades during the market opening session, which they claim is a limitation of the liquidity provider.

After reading the review at this site, I think keep away from Etoro is a Must.

Etoro's execution for shares/etfs are terrible. Execution can be as long as 5-10 secs and terrible fills. Their spreads are quite wide as well for a CFD provider.

I would stay clear of them.

eToro is not recommended for daytrading.
90% are stockpickers, even shortsellers hold their trades for several days.
