Energy prices long term

Gas companies are now offering various deals to lock in your gas prices at current rates for a number of years.

Would anyone care to give an opinion on the advisability of doing this bearing in mind where they think energy prices will go over the next 2,3 ...5 years ?

I would advise that you do it. But check what their rates currently are compared to others. UK gas prices are pretty cheap rigfht now in the wholesale market and bear no relation to Crude prices. As the years pass Gas will become more expensive as the UK reserves deplete and our imports increase substantially
