if it breaks and holds below 1560 it telegraphs to the market, that further downside is left. Market participants are expecting it to gap up here, the deviation from expectations is crucial information.

AH session should run stops below 1560, as Europe opens some negativity will bring it around 1558.00, as US open nears then the prices should try to pivot off of 1560 again.

I'm suspecting bad guidance will be given similar to Rhyder trucks.

Alcoa Preview: A Wrench in Restructuring Plans

About this story:
Alcoa -- the world's largest aluminum producer, a position it will lose once mining company Rio Tinto takes over Canadian producer Alcan -- will report its third-quarter 2007 earnings on Oct. 9. The Pittsburgh-based company, in an attempt to face up to economic realities emanating from the declining American automotive industry, has been engaged in a continuing process of restructuring its downstream operations, which began in 2005. In particular, it is envisaging the sale of its packaging and automotive castings business as well as restructuring its electrical and electronic solutions division. In previous years, Alcoa cut jobs in its extrusion plants, which make fabricated aluminum, in the U.S. and Europe. The new entity created by Rio Tinto's takeover of Alcan, however, will throw a wrench in Alcoa's ongoing restructuring and attempts to regain efficiency. Analysts are expecting earnings to be up a tad, to 66 cents...

one way to strand position holders is to not offer them an out, just keep pressing price in one direction. Human psychology likes to believe in pipedreams. First sell signal today.

Dow, generals in retreat, couldn't hold the line.

will add to shorts, no sl today for it. Everyday that the Dow is down greater then 100 points, will be construed as a sell signal. And will add at each signal.

in equity markets, the first day of a sell signal or significant enough decline, usually it leads to further consecutive declines.

there are footprints in price of large players washing out positions, some consipiracy theorists have argued that a governmental agency is behind it.

a low volume move to the upside with no conviction spells of engineering.
