How does the Dow behave on a bank holiday when the FTSE isn't open?

I'm expecting it to be less fluid than usual, and rather flat. Would I be correct on that assumption?

US stock market is closed today , however Dow futures are open until 13:00 ET today - reopen 18:00 ET - , and yes small movements not necessarily flat though ...

DOW generally couldn't give a toss about FTSE, so FTSE being closed won't influence DOW.

FTSE is the slave of DOW.

Yes you are right about the FTSE , however when it is a bank holiday in the UK volumes in Europe and the US are less ...

Ah right, so that would be why the FTSE gets pulled about on US open. What about commodities? How do they function without the stock markets open?
