Dow Jones cash index

Does anyone know whether it is possible to trade the Dow Jones cash index (as opposed to the futures, CFD or spreadbet)? I have ADVFN real-time and have seen trades being reported on the Dow Jones index, but am not aware of a way of trading the cash index.

No, As you said apart from futures and the ETF, there is no way. Was it not just trades on the DJIA components?

Where did you see the trades being reported? Don't have ADVFN.

you could trade the dow cash by just buyng baskets of shares in the correct proportion to make up the cash index - so thats one really reallly hard way to make money - enjoy!

Or DJIA , the dow tracker.

Many thanks for your responses. The trades I have seen are on ADVFN and they do look like trades on the index, based on the sizes and reported prices. I will contact ADVFN and ask them. Will also look at the DJIA, ChartMan. Thanks again.

djia runs with the futures with worse margin
