Hi there
I trade intraday with ftse index options, just basic buy and sell calls and puts, with a decent delta say .5 and above, i do ok on this tho timing for larger moves to enable my daily target to be reached and my bank means i usually only get one or two shots early morning to get the points needed and want to trade full time, without going too deep into option strategies is this possible? and still be done by the end of each day rather than hold overnight? sorry its longwinded folks:innocent:

Tough thing about trading index options intraday (even the most liquid) is the spreads. You're throwing money out the door. If you're looking for leverage why not just trade the futures contract?

The problem w futures is that u need a stoploss , and many times after i get stopped the market goes in my direction ! , in this case options is better for position trading or i should to improve my entries ....

Day trading with options can be done but you need to use the correct market for the best results.
Like it would be better to use the OEX instead of the SPX for day trades. To be honest it's best to do shorter term swing trades with options. From 1-5 days with most trades lasting about 2-3 days.
