Date format in MetaQuotes data?

I am trying to download the historical data from MetaQuotes via the History Centre in the MetaTrader application. The data format when downloaded to a csv file is as follows: 2005.08.12. Does anyone know how i can convert this easily to the usual mm/dd/yyyy?

Steveshutts, presume you're converting to display the data in another charting program —
which program ?
if it's MetaStock there's alternate methods otherwise the only way I know is to use a spreadsheet program.

The easiest way is to use excel...

1.) Open the .csv file in excel.

2.) save the text as a date with the format as yyyy.mm.dd

3.) reformat the date as mm/dd/yyyy

It was to view the files within Sierra Charts so i could replay them. I have written a quick file converter now that does the job. Thanks anyway guys!!

Hi,

I only found this dudes that have Forex data for MetaQuotes:

I've used their ASCII data to load it into some DDE tool to generate tick. It seemed fine.
