Im new to the boards.

Basically, what are the competitions, what is involved, and how do I start?

The Dow 30 competition runs from Monday to Friday and the idea is to guess where it will close on Friday, both a rough area (choice of three: up, down or flat) and an exact figure. Depending on which day of the week you make your guess (before the open) you win points for guessing the correct area. Monday = 5 points, Tuesday = 4 points etc. If you get the closest actual figure as well then your points score is doubled.

Points are accumulated over 4 weeks whoever has the most at the end wins.

There is also a share competition in which you start with a notional £50k and you trade UK shares.
