Clearing houses/brokers confusion

Apologies there, had a call back with an account exec from GNI, but with the cut rates and trichet on its been mental!!! thus missed the calls. I'll call them back shortly.

Ah thanks Hardy can't rep you at the moment.

So roundturn thats €6 vs interactivebrokers bundled commissions of €4 RT under 300 lots, but over 500 lots they are actually cheaper at €3 RT.

Although IB also have the unbundled fee structure where you pay €2.6 RT over 300 and under 1000 lots month, and above that both keep getting better and better.

So overall quite competitive I'd say.

Good stuff Hardy thanks for sharing.

:)

Ok, finally got a reply.

Don't quite get the first part...

Am I having my blonde moment of the day...

Apart from the fact that those rates are highway robbery, where do they fit in with this:

"For professional trading volumes, the transaction charges are as set out below. Also, what the heck does this mean:

"A minimum transaction charge, will be levied per calendar month of £200/€300/$300"

Does that only apply if no trades are made or not enough trades to cover that sum ?

Also, does that mean CQG is then included ?

???

I've been on to them, sending another email with actual clearing costs, levies etc (a breakdown). Soon as its recieved, I shall post.

As for CQG you have to pay $25.00 pm, 0.25c round trip.

Good stuff, getting better and better.

Can you also ask them what the difference between those two different commission rate sets is from above ?

Thanks mate

:)

I WAS having a blonde moment, the first set of commission rates is for BELOW 299 lots / month.

Sorry for the confusion hehe :D

Oh, another quick note, the sales rep said prices are negotiable!! I mean that doesnt make sense to me, not doing the hard sell I guess :)

I suppose in the current climate they're happy for any new clients, real buyers market for just about everything and it's aunt right now I'd say.

Hi Markus,
what platform are you using at the moment if you don't mind me asking?

Just tried to find some info on the web about the ABN Amro platform for futures - can't find anything! Is it abnamromarkets.com ? Looked like it might be but didn't have any info there.

Recieved the clearing costs, levies etc.
For myself trading the bund, schatz, bobl etc, its €0.20 plus the €0.75 each way (1000+ lots price) Total fig being €1.90 per trade for the round trip from GNI. 0.25c round trip from CQG and $25 for the platform permonth.

To be honest I have nothing to compare these prices, but seems pretty reasonable. I do like CQG as a platform, very user friendly, especially using trailing stops etc.

I tried posting the excel spreadsheet with all the clearing prices on, but proved to be very difficult on this site. Hence the give up :-(
If you would like a copy, just ask.

many thanks,

PW

Hi Markus,

Hi sorry just caught this, abnamro is cfd's.

https://www.abnamromarketindex.com

My other broker is interactivebrokers.com

I'm just not a fan of the latters clunky platform so am looking at this CQG / GNI option here now, waiting to hear if that'll run on my Mac tho...

Thanks for all the numbers PW, appreciate that.
