Like most things in this world, threads have a limited life expectancy. When a thread runs its course, it gradually sinks to the bottom of the mass grave of old threads, deep in the bowels of T2W. Over the ten years (almost!) that T2W has been going, there has been some really great ones chock full of wit and wisdom which, sadly, the majority of the membership will never see – simply because they don’t know they’re there. (Get out the violins!)

The idea behind ‘Classic Threads’ or 'Golden Threads', is to remedy this situation by digging out these old gems, editing out all the fluff and extraneous tittle-tattle, so that one is left with the really good stuff at their core – the nitty-gritty. The ‘remastered’ thread will then be given a permanent home in a newly created sub forum. The original thread will be left in tact where it is, so that anyone that wants to, can enjoy it in its entirety – warts ‘n’ all. The new forum and its Classic Threads will be a bit like the Articles section in that members can access it, but will not have the facility to post to the threads in it.

Your mission folks, should you choose to accept it, is to recommend those threads that deserve a place in the new ‘Classic Threads’ forum. Think hard about the threads that have really helped you, the ones that have enabled you to move up a rung or two on the trading ladder or, in some rare cases, even caused one of these to flash in your head:
Thanks for your suggestions,
Tim.

Sadly the very best and most educational threads tend to get deleted

Seems it doesn't matter if they got ruined as they will be edited down to the decent stuff...

i remembered nearly 6 - 7 months ago, theres one legendary member told me in this forum 'he/she will never ever reveal whats his trading plan in this forum at all' and asked me to keep dreaming

dunno if he/she is joking or what, so.. wondered if theres really gems in here. lol

If you say which threads you are talking of it may be possible that with editing they could be reinstated especially if they are truly educational.

Any thread where the author advocates trading without a stop (or super wide stop) and always waiting for a losing trade to come back into profit. Followed by the rebuttals from members who try to convince the OP why such a strategy is doomed to fail.

Spanish started one of these and im sure he wasnt the first or last.

Including this type of thread would be educational for newbies.

Hi Timsk

The threads that I remember are the ones that were the most entertaining.

I suggested to Sharky ages ago that the best ones should be edited and put into a paperback. Would be an excellent bogside book to dip into....

Right up there with the main contenders was Bid-a-Tool, a fellow who ran a very successful tool retail business on eBay but took it upon himself to forecast a repeat of
the Wall Steet crash. How crazy was he? Ridiculous notion. Unfortunately he was 2 years too early, but he was in hindsight, correct after all.

Then there was the sequel - equally amusing.

The Socrates animal thread was good too, not least for the way he always seemed to bring out the worst in people. Some of the late night bare knuckle fisticuffs were worth staying up for, because you knew they would be deleted by the mods the following day.

Ah, halcyon days!
