Apologies for such a basic question - I'm a complete novice

Anyway, does someone know if the £12.50 commision fee I'm paying per trade needs to be included in or excluded from the capital gains tax calculation?

Simple example
Let's say I bought shares for £1,000, and paid a £12.50 commision fee.
I then sold them for £1,100, and paid a £12.50 commision fee.

Total gain excluding commision fees = £100
Total gain including commision fees = £75

In other words: Would I report a gain of £75 or a gain of £100 on my self-assessment form?

You report the full gain, you claim the commission back, it's an expense.
