This is courtesy the police.
Burglers chalk up these symbols or sometimes arrange them in pebbles outside houses, on gates, pavements etc.
Most of them are worth removing.

Yep, who'd think a community of burglars even existed.
Yep - they are thick as thieves - out to get what they can off you
Well OK, now for all you cruising your neignbourhoods casing the joints. If things seem to be looking a little light on the goods for taking front, be on the look out for a tin of Mr Sheen /furniture spray polish on display in peoples front room windows.
"Apparently" that means the couple who live there are up for a bit of couple swapping/wild sex romps with strangers/ fellow swingers that day/night, so you just go in.
Anyone into that ?
Edit.
Oh can you attach a poll Mr Charts ? , I would like to see how many of us here have been burgled before. I have once . Cheers
Burglary is up 25% on the same quarter last year so all this is of relevance. Based on the picture you have attached Richard I may well deliberately put the signs for:
"Too Risky" and "Nothing Worth Stealing" out as well as "House has Burglar Alarm"
