Hello,

I am a total novice so forgive me if my descriptions are a little out of focus. Hopefully you will understand what I am asking and what I mean.

I am looking to know which software someone who is starting out might be wise to use to place small lots. I am initially planning to trade Forex. If I have over looked a sticky on the subject then please link me to it.

There seems to be a mountain of broker software to pick and I do not know which brokers are trusted and which ones are best avoided. I have tried out a few (FXCM, Forextradepro & Dealbook) but I don't know if they are any good LIVE trading.

Any resources or help on this final hurdle would be much appreciated.

Its rare you'll hear me make a reccommendation, but you could do worse than checing out Oanda.

I'm a bit skepto about firms offering Android apps as a trading platform, IE who is going to pay for their development.

Do you know what the minimum investment amount is? I can't seem to find this information on their website.

Sorry I'm not really sure but I think its extremely small, $25 or so. The reason I reccommend them is that they allow very small position sizes, which would allow you to trade a small account of just a few hundred bucks with very conservative risk management. A lot of people dont like them because they dont offer insane leverage.

I must admit that was my first thought when CMC's chief executive boasted on this very forum that they'd spent over 100 million developing a platform that looks like it was knocked up by a bunch of 6th formers in their lunch break

My second thought was wishing I could have found a similar client with money to burn back in my software development days
