I currently use the FXCM Real Time Forex News on twitter to keep an eye on what the latest developments are? Are there any better free sources of information?

I guess you are refering to this <<http://www.dailyfx.com/real_time_news/>> ? Well, it is the quickest to report on "rumours" and news. Eg, when NFP comes out, if you are not watching bloomberg or some other channel, i guess its the fastest place to find the figures... For more indepth news, you can try the currency page on bloomberg of marketwatch...
