I was watching BBC news in the early hours, and they had a report on all the FREE software available for PC's - web browsers, Operating systems, MS Office equivalents, AVG, spyware etc. basically, there is NO NEED to pay for any software AT ALL, and still have a very HIGH SPEC setup.

Good point well made. Here are some good places to start for free software:
