10 minutes browsing T2W & my browsers as slow as a wet weekend

And then i have to close it, clear out prvate dats etc. to bring it back to its fresh speed.

I tend to use firefox, but IE7 is just the same.

I recognise that many websites have this effect nowadays, but T2W is the one i use most i suppose.....


Is it the same for anyone else?

Not had it that bad but i do notice that T2W takes longer to load than many other forums / sites. I just find it irritating but thankfully the quality of some posts does compensate!

Presumably, it's down to resources - you can make any site go like greased weaselsh*t if you spend enough.
 
T2W starts off quick enough, but then slows to the speed of a mud turtle.

Ebay is similar.

But, unless its my imagination, T2W seems to slow the browser & have the lingering effect of slowing any following websites that i view. again, ebay does the same with all its java ****e...

have you tried a different pc using the same internet connection - might be a way of deciding if it's your pc where the problem is.
 
Turn off javascript for the website, then it goes like weaselsh*t, if not greased even.

I keep javascript turned off using NoScript for Firefox, works like a charm. If I need it, it's just a click of the mouse to turn it on. The only thing you have to have javascript for on this site is the search engine, for some reason, but otherwise it's just for bells and whistles.

How much memory in your PC ?
 
You don't need more RAM and you don't need javascript either, any more than you need fluffy dice on your rear view mirror. If you're using Internet Explorer, download and install ie7pro.com from the website of the same name. It makes it easy to cut out all the guff some of these websites foist on their poor users.
 
Disabling javascript is more trouble than the slow websites. As many websites require javascript.

What about just disabling java in FF and not javascrit, is that likely to keeps things quick?

I've left javascript on and turned java off. The browser has not slowed at all, even after watching some youtube clips.

My trading setup doesn't require java.
 
Horses for courses. You should be able to turn off javascript / java / flash on a per-site basis. I keep it all off, and when I notice that I need it, I'll turn it on for that site only.

Really? i thought Its not possible to allow exceptions of individual websites concerning java & javascript in firefox is it?

If so, how?

I don't know Firefox but you can easily enable/disable Javascript, Java, Flash plugins, other plugins and cookies on an individual site basis in Opera.

Cheers DC that is working well.
T2W is still pretty slow however as it uses a lot of script. I've enabled all T2W script requests. Not sure if that was a good idea or not....

EDIT actually just edited T2W settings just so that it allows me to watch video clips..

javascript browser speed clogging issue -

How much of the problem is due to the actual PC being used?

eg. if i have the latest top spec PC will having my browser javascript enabled, slow down my browser?

Or, is it nothing to do with the PC specs, but all to do with your broadband download & upload speeds?

I think it's probably a bit of both - and also dependent on which browser you are using. IE7 is faster on some fronts than FF, and Opera also claims to be fastest. In my case I'm pretty sure a faster computer would speed up T2W if I wanted to turn javascript on, but in my opinion that's not a good enough reason to upgrade the CPU. I've got a 2.4 GHz CPU, and my broadband speed is around 6 mbps.

Actually maps.google.co.uk is the worst for me - so slow to load, like I had an old 486.
