    DAX Trading Aug 6th - 10th

Dax - the odd one out Can anyone see the order book for the DAX futures? The implied cash has been rock solid at around 7330 while the rest of the world indices have been making new lows. It looks like some entity is trying to limit the rate at which the DAX falls.

    DAX Trading Aug 6th - 10th

snap I used my spreadbet company to short DAX just before the close, however, I did hedge with a long on the FTSE. Whoever was supporting the market at 7420-7430 yesterday is now taking a beating.

    DAX Trading Aug 6th - 10th

evening DAX futures Any ideas why the DAX has become so stable on the evenings when the US markets are tanking? We saw the DAX futures remaining almost unchanged during last friday night's big sell off and today we're starting to see something similar today. A couple of weeks ago, the DAX...

did they really get it wrong? I think the SB guys just derive the prices from the DAX futures market which is open Monday-Friday 07:00-21:00. It was amazing to see the DAX futures not collapse (like they usually do) when the US markets were in so much trouble.

I would appreciate any...

    Chart of 10,000 coin tosses

If you assume that the share price is a fair game (martingale), and you set your stops as above then the probability of the share price hitting your stop win before your stop loss will be lower (since it's further away) than 0.5, and this will compensate for the fact that you win 33 when you're...

    Chart of 10,000 coin tosses

If you assume that the stock price is a martingale (a fair game), of which the coin toss is an example, then it is possible to prove that no investment strategy subject to (i) finite wealth and (ii) previsibility (can't see into the future) can bring you expected returns greater than 0. So if...
